Welcome to Backwater Bandits — where slingin' slime isn’t a crime.

From the massive thump of the BudderCup™ to the explosive action of the Carolina Boom, we craft baits that catch fish. Gear up, cast out, and let the slime fly.

How It Started: Backwater Bandits Lure Company

Backwater Bandits Lure Company was born in the salty creeks of coastal North Carolina. Stephen Hamilton and Patrick Morris weren’t trying to start a brand. They were just two buddies looking to make baits that would perform in the waters they loved to fish.

They began building their own baits, tweaking shapes, dialing in colors, and testing the lures in the same waters they fished week after week.

The first bait to truly prove itself was a pearl-colored prototype—clean, subtle, and alive in the water with just the right amount of flash. That bait was named the Buddercup and it set the standard for everything that followed.

To keep up with growing demand without sacrificing quality, Backwater Bandits teamed up with MirrOlure in June of 2025 to produce baits in Costa Rica. That partnership allows us to maintain consistent production while making sure every lure meets the same standards we expect on the water.
